Daniel was born in Galveston, Texas, raised in the rural midwest of southern Indiana, and now resides in Dallas, TX, where he works full time as a systems engineer.

He was homeschooled during his formative years, which afforded him the opportunity to pursue many different interests including music, art, videography, rock climbing, mission trips, and leading worship.

These days, he is most interested in his faith, scripture, theology, philosophy, calisthenics, cooking, music production, and photography.

He also maintains a keen interest in wanting to create a community on some land centered around the presence of God. This would involve prayer, worship, dance, study, earthen/alternative construction, growing food, and brewing lots of single origin filter coffee.

By the way, this is his go-to recipe for the Kalita Wave 185 paired with a light roast bean:

  • Coffee: 20g ground at 25 clicks on a Commandante C40

  • Water: 320g at 202 F

  • 0:00 - bloom to 60g

  • 0:30 - spiral pour to 120g by 0:40

  • 0:50 - spiral pour to 180g by 1:00

  • 1:10 - spiral pour to 250g by 1:25

  • 1:40 - spiral pour to 320g by 1:55

  • Drain by 2:45 - 3:15
